Weapons for the Ancestors focuses on the metal arts of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. It examines iron-smithing and iron-smelting practices from a historical perspective as well as through modern reenactment of ancient techniques. The program further explains how ceremonial knives and axes are of central importance to Shona society.
